Deskripsi mata kuliah

The focus of this course (Production/Operations Manajement: Strategic Operations ) will be on stimulatingg exchange of ideas among the students and lecturers with a view to articulating new paradigms and identifying required new knowledge`s and their linkage, and imparting that knowledge to virtual companies (services, manifacturing, projects/programs). The theme of this course would thus be on “ emerging paradigms for Internatonal Operations Manajement”. The session in this cours, reflecting the abouve theme, will be organized into the following broad areas.

  1. Global Competitiveness and Strategic Operations Manajement
  2. Innovations and technology Deployment: TQM ( and its derivatives vs reengineering Management)
  3. Service Operations: Total Quality Services
  4. World Class Manufacturing
  5. Project/Program and Property Management

  2. Copies of software program : SQC, STORM, QSB +, have been planced on severa on the Lab. Of microcomputer for use in this course. Instrutions for its will be distributed in class
  3. Case Discussion, Presentations and proposal:

The case analyses should make use of the concepts presented in the course with       respect to the various topics. Where appropriate, the analysis should also draw upon concepts presented in the textbook whiceh are not emphasized in class discussions

  1. In editions to analyzing POM cases, the presentation should make recommendations for improvement where appropriate. In general, the presenter should develop the point of view of POM concepts. The case presentations will be graded on organization, throughness, insightfulness of analysis/recommendations and oral communications skills (in English)
  2. In the second part of this course the students should make an individual proposal and present it in the class discussion. The proposal`s resources should from 5 (five) journals or articles that related and up to date topics in Production Operations Management.
